Reuters — The United Nations Security Council has met for the sixth time to try and resolve the crisis unfolding in Cyprus after tension flared up following revelations about the weapons cache located in Northern Cyprus. While a draft directive was initially submitted to the Dais, support for it has fallen. A Delegate speaking under the conditions of anonymity explained that it was submitted prematurely before gaining concrete support from the permanent five members of the Council. The Times of India — Over 300 emails between leaders of Pakistan and Turkey were released anonymously to WikiLeaks on Friday. The leak occurred less than a day after the airstrike on Cyprus. Among the correspondents is General Zubair Hayat, who was Pakistan’s highest-ranked military leader before his retirement last November. Hayat has avoided publicity since stepping down as Chairman Joint Chief, isolating himself at his ranch in Kharian.
